He said it is high time Nigerian began to think for itself, adding that the nation cannot move forward except there is a change in the institution.
The political analyst in his message to Nigeria on her 55th anniversary, said: ” The recommendation of the 2014 National conference has to be implemented, if we don’t implement it then there is no way we can move forward.”
Adding that: “No matter how sane Buhari is, no matter how prudent he is, regardless the spirit of corruption he wants to fight, without a good structure, he will have problems.”
Gani further stressed that Nigeria must operate true federalism just as it was obtained from America in 1978.
He said that the pseudo-federal system which Nigeria claims to be operating is actually a unitary system which cannot sustain its 245 ethnic nationalities.
“Everyone must be made to participate freely, allowing every state to develop at their own pace, therefore reaching and satisfying the needs of more citizens,” he said.
Meanwhile, the cultural advocate said that the cultural festival which held at Unilag is a good development in cultural promotion. He urged many to embrace such programs which seeks to showcase the Nigerian heritage to the world.
He said having an opportunity to imbibe culture into the lifestyle of the youths and younger generation, will correct the ills in the society and correct wrong impressions the world has of the Nigerian people.

The OPC leader said that culture is and will be a great tool in taking Nigeria to the height which it is supposed to have attained.
While explaining the role of culture in Nigerian development, he said we will lose our identity and focus if we continue to demonize our own tradition.
He noted that there is a great distinction between culture and religion, stating that the consciousness of the people must be awakened to ensure that our root is not forgotten.
“If we continue to forget our root, then no matter the intellectual wealth we acquire, we may not be able to move this country forward.”
Gani said he was glad that the event took place in Unilag were many prominent Nigerians have their children, noting that if Unilag has started to imbibe cultural promotions as this, then it won’t be long before the entire Nigeria keys into the initiative.
He urged all Nigerians to begin to see their various cultures in a new light, stating that this would be the road to finding our national identity.
