Pensioners in Ekiti state have cried out to Governor Ayodele Fayose to accommodate them in the bailout fund disbursements in paying their gratuities, pensions and other entitlements.

They posited that it will be unfair for the state government not to include the state pensioners when making payment from the bailout fund.
This was disclosed by the president of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, (NUP)Ekiti chapter, Ayo Ikumapayi in an exclusive interview with Naij.com in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
The pensioners expressed their displeasure on the treatment melted out them by past government in state by denying them of their entitlements after serving the state well . They said a lot of their colleagues have died in the course of pursuing their rights.

Ikumapayi appealed to all stakeholders in state to help prevail on Fayose to show them mercy in considering them for the bailout fund received from the federal government.
The pensioners pleaded on the masses friendly governor to rescue them from the unpleasant situation they are facing.
Meanwhile, Governor Fayose have said that the bailout fund released by the Central Bank of Nigeria does not caption gratuities, pensions and other entitlements for pensioners, saying that the state was only given about N9.6 billion out of about N29b requested for.
The governor made this disclosure on Monday, September 28 while addressing participants at the retreat organised for permanent secretaries, directors and heads of agencies.
It would be recalled that the Ekiti state commissioner for finance and economic development, Toyin Ojo during a meeting with labour leaders in Ado-Ekiti last week where he accused the CBN for not releasing sufficient fund to fully accommodate the salary arrears owed local government workers and primary school teachers as well as pension and gratuity arrears of the state retirees under the bailout package.

The commissioner explained that: “the State government included the full arrears of pensions and gratuities of State Retirees, salaries of Local Government and Primary school teachers, subvention to tertiary institutions and parastatals as well as Leave Bonus, totalling N29,571,346,351.85 in its request to the CBN, only N8.613bn and N991.04m, totalling N9.604bn was approved by the CBN.
“N8.613bn was approved for State workers while N991.04m was approved for Local Government workers minimum wage,”Ojo said.
