Eleven soldiers and two civilians escorting the salary convoy transporting $40,000 were killed by unidentified armed robbers in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday.


The money were meant to pay salaries for civil servants. The attack occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Uvira area of South Kivu.



Six months ago armed men dressed in army uniform stormed the First City Monument Bank in Lekki, Lagos, late in the afternoon of March 12, shooting sporadically.


12 people including four policemen have been killed following the bank robbery in Lagos. The bank is said to be located around the Lekki/Ikoyi bridge.


An eyewitness confirmed that a large number of armed robbers invaded the bank shooting sporadically.


The robbers robbed a bank at Lekki phase 1 and attempted to escape through the link bridge to Ikoyi when they encountered policemen.
