Recently, the name, Emir of Kano has been on the lips of many Nigerians following his marriage to an 18-year-old princess. Sanusi secretly tied the knot with Sa’adatu Barkindo-Musdafa, the daugther of the Lamido of Adamawa. Some Nigerians came down hard on the Emir, condemning the marriage. Some said marrying an 18 year old is like eating a chicken that just hatched while others referred to him as a sugar daddy.

Responding to his critics, the Emir of Kano had explained his reason for picking an 18-year-old girl as his fourth wife, saying that those who see something filthy about the sacred bond, should buy themselves new brain.
