Sabo Mohammed was the member of the House of Representatives since 2007 when he entered the House of Reps in the 6th National Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party’s platform; the PDP won the majority of Senate and House seats then.

However, he was elected the member of the 8th NASS under the APC platform. Senator Sabo Mohammed’s name was mentioned under the number 41 in the list of those 81 Senators who supported Bukola Saraki in the vote of confidence. His unexpected demarche caused mixed reactions on social media.

84 senators to 83 yesterday, today 82 and by 22nd October when his corruption case will come up for hearing the number will reduce to 60 senators. When he is finally jailed and striped of his senatorial garb, the support will come to 1 that is himself only,” told Ahmed Nasir Ohise commenting on that issue.

This is the most unfortunate, how can he be so bold to own up a document hand written where he, despite being a Senator of the federal Republic of Nigeria did not only accept to be loyal to his party which is not wrong depending on anybody’s judgement but also loyal to the same party. What does he owe the Senate and Nigeria. If these people do not take time, the quest to remove Senator Saraki may cause the problem of the APC”, replied Egbujuoh Emma Ahuoku.

“The senator cannot even write. Well am not surprised that the man gave a vote of confidence inside the hallow chambers and later came out to deceive his constituency with a letter of consolation,” commented Elijah Iliya Onda.

Senator Babajide Omoworare who is the senate chairman, Commmittee on Business and Rules dissociated himself from the stamp of confidence passed on Saraki earlier.

“Ordinarily, by virtue of my position as the Chairman, Commmittee on Business and Rules, I should have seen this motion before now,” he told, adding: “but it comes as matter of urgent public importance. My name is listed as number 11. Let me say that I don’t know how my name got into the list. I therefore say I am not part of it.”
