The First Lady of Kebbi state, Zainab Bagudu, and her aide visited a 90-year-old Hajiya Fati Maitalle Tara, popularly called ‘Mai Talle Tara’.

The story of this amazing elderly woman first emerged in January 2015, when she decided to donate her life savings to support Muhammadu Buhari and his presidential campaign.

Mai Talle Tara’described Buhari as an honest, principled and God-fearing gentleman. According to her, she was first impressed by his performance in 1983 when he took over.

Since the general elections, Nigerians have not heard a lot about the life of this generous woman. However, according to recent reports, Mai Talle Tara is critically sick and gradually paralyzing.

One Idris Kuringafa, who personally knows the elderly woman, revealed that Fadimatu has been ill since after she came back from attending the inauguration of President Buhari in Abuja.

The man accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of abandoning Fadimatu. He also recalled that Alh Atiku Bagudo, the governor of Kebbi state, had promised to take her to Dubai for medical treatment but is yet to fulfill his promise.

Reacting to the story that the woman had been abandoned, the ruling party released a statement, in which it said that the wife of the Kebbi state governor had been in touch with the elderly woman.

The party said that after a mild stroke that happened to the elderly woman, she was admitted and treated at the Sir Yahaya General Hospital in Birnin Kebbi.

The First Lady of Kebbi state, Zainab Bagudu, is consulting a patient at the Sir Yahaya General Hospital.

“Since Haj Maitalle returned to her home in Koko, the Governor, the First Lady and Sen. Aliero have been in touch with her. The First Lady has personally visited her three times, the Governor and Sen. Aliero once each, and the House of Representatives member from her constituency over four times,” the party said.
