Martins Nets Another Goal For Seattle Sounders, U-23 Star Junior Ajayi Scores On His Debut

 Nigerians all over the world were on fire over the weekend scoring goals galore to help their respective teams to victories.


In the USA, goal king Obafemi Martins was in great form as he scored his fourteenth goal of the season as his club Seattle Sounders earned a hard fought 1 – 1 draw with Sporting Kansas City.

With his fourteenth goal of the season, Martins is just three goals shy of his club record of seventeen goals in a season which he created in 2014.


Despite his huge goal haul, Martins is still way behind Sierra Leone’s Kei Kamara, who is the leading scorer in the MLS with 22 goals for Columbus Crew.

Going over the Atlantic, Emmanuel Emenike scored as his club Al Ain suffered a shock 2 – 1 loss to Al Wahda in their Arabia Gulf League game.

The Super Eagles forward has three goals in as many league games for  club while Al Ain are second with nine points from four games in the league.

Back in Africa where, U23 star Junior Ajayi scored on his debut for Tunisian club CS Sfaxien in a 3-1 win over Gasfa. The former Shooting Stars striker scored in the 34th minute of the game.


Ajayi was the leading scorer of the NigeriaU23 squad who won Bronze medal at the recent 11th All Africa Games football event in Congo Brazzaville.
