The Ivorian FA listed the following coaches as a replacement; Patrice Neveu, Paolo Duarte, Michel Dussuyer, Henry Kasperczak and Frederic Antonetti

Of these contenders, Antonetti has not been privileged to manage any team on the continent.

Also, former France and Italy coaches Raymond Domenech and Giovanni Trapattoni  were all on the initial list released a fortnight ago by the Ivorian FA which included Eagles’ coach Keshi.

The situation immediately angered Nigerian Football Federation (NFF). As a result, the Super Eagles chief coach was summoned to face an NFF panel over the allegation.

Immediately after the panel, Keshi denied knowledge of the situation and informed reporters that he might have been randomly selected .

The NFF has refused to comment on the issue and has stated that the matter is under investigation.

The disciplinary committee of the NFF has stated that it will recommend Keshi’s sack if it was discovered Keshi actually applied for the job
