Chris Olukolade Laments Support for Military Operations in Nigeria

The Director of Defence Information, Nigeria, Major General Chris Olukolade has lamented the difficulty of the Nigerian military in getting the support of Nigerians in performing their duties.



He made this lamentation known in the two books he launched today, June 30, 2015 at the Nigerian Airforce Conference Centre and Suites, Kado, Abuja.


The books are titled: “The Voice and Battles of the Nigerian Military” and “Issues in the Mobilization of Public Support for Military Operation in Nigeria”.


The event was attended by top personalities in Nigerian army.


Among those present at the launching of the books is Professor Joseph Golwa, Ag. Honourable Minister of Defence, Alhaji Ismaila Numan Aliyu who was the Special Guest of Honour, Professor Jerry Gana and many others.

Olukolade doubles as the Chairman of Forum of Spokespersons on Security and Response Agencies (FOSSRA) in Nigeria said the books will educate readers on some of the elements of crisis communication from the military perspectives.


Major General Olukolade was born Adefolahan Christopher Olukolade on born on March 18, 1959 in Zaria, Kaduna State. His parents hail from Idoani in Ondo State.


Mr. Olukolade attended the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, where he graduated in 1983 with Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree.


He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1982 with the academic reports of his third year in the University as a military soldier and student.
