‘Do Something’ is a song by Chocolate City artiste, Koker, and it appeared on ‘The Indestructible Choc Boi Nation’ album that dropped earlier in the year.
Koker first did a hook for fellow label mate, Pryse, on the song – ‘Eleto’, a piece that dropped in 2013 and had quite some buzz given its hip hop and Afro influences.
Do Something has strong Fuji influences and is largely danceable. It is rich, original and radio-ready.
Koker’s creativity and boldness to render in the less-patronized African genre –vis-à-vis the regular pop sounds that are rife today– increases his sense of individuality on this, earning the people’s esteem.
Musically, Do Something doesn’t say much. It preaches the all-important role of money in today’s world, stressing the need for industry and persistence which consequently pave the paths for some merrymaking and fun.
Production on this is by Reinhard and L3; and the fusion of talking drums and guitar strings on it are total, making Do Something a joy of a tune
