Transfer Update: Man City Sign De Bryne, Dante Leaves Bayern, Victor Moses Set For West Ham And More

With just one day and over eight hours left of the English transfer window, clubs have unexpectedly begun signing new players as transfer deadline comes closer.


The France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Holland’s transfer window closes on Monday 31 August at 23:59. The Portuguese transfer window stays open until 22 September. The English transfer window closes Tuesday, September 1, at 6pm.


Unexpectedly, Manchester City have signed last season’s German Bundesliga player of the year Kevin De Bryne From Wolfsburg. The Belgian moves to the Etihad for around 5o million Euros.

His fellow club mate, Ivan Perisic has moved to Inter Milan for around $15m on a four year deal. The two players were pivotal in Wolfsburg resurgence last season, their second place finish in the Bundesliga and their DFB Pokal final win over Dortmund.

AC Milan has however loaned Italian center-back Gabriel Palleta to Atalanta.


The Bundesliga continued to give us intriguing transfers. 2013 Bundesliga defender of the year, Dante Borges has left Bayern Munich for Wolfsburg. The defender was displaced by Benatia and Badstuber in the Bavarians defence last season and will hope to regain his form in the west of Germany.

Meanwhile the Bavarians themselves, have brought in Juventus youngster Kingsley Coman on a two year loan deal. The striker joined the Bianconeri from PSG in 2013 on a free transfer and moves to Germany hoping to reignite his career.

As one wonderkid comes in, another goes out. Bayern have agreed to loan one of the best young midfielders in world football Pierre Hojbjerg to Schalke 04. The 20 year old has already played seven times for Denmark.


Meanwhile Mainz’s Park Joo-Ho has joined Dortmund and the South Korean has signed a three year deal with the 2013 UEFA Champions League finalist.


Over in the premier League, a lot of low key transfer have been going on. Johnny Evans has left Manchester United to link up with Nigerian forwards Brown Ideye and Victor Anichebe in West Brom. The defender leaves after eight years of service and 198 appearances.

Another player who could be leaving the club is David De Gea after Loius Van Gaal admitted after the loss to Swansea on Sunday that he was not sure if the twwo time Manchester United player of the year will be at the clun come Tuesday. Another goalie at the club, Victor Valdes has seen his move to Besiktas collapse due to wage differences.

Manchester United meanwhile have agreed a deal in principle in sign AS Monaco forward, Anthony Martial. According to RMC, United have lodged a €50 million bid for the 19-year-old who extended his current deal to 2020 earlier in the summer.


Bayern Leverkusen are understood to have agreed a deal to sign Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez from Manchester United.

Liverpool have loaned last season’s 20 million euro’s flop Lazar Markovic to Fenerbache for the whole season while it has been under stood that Jose Enrique and Fabio Borini will leave the club for West Brom and Sunderland respectively. Meanwhile newboys Bournemouth are set to sign Napoli midfielder Jonathan De Guzman on a season-long loan deal and Charlie Austin from QPR.


Sky Sources have however indicated that Nigeria’s Victor Moses is set to join West Ham on loan from Chelsea. The attacker has spent the last two seasons on loan at Liverpool and Stoke City already and is already in his fourth year at the current English Champions.

Another Nigerian who as moved is Yakubu Aiyegbeni who has traded life in England for Turkey. The striker moves to Kayserispor after his contract with Reading expired.


Finally, Juventus announced that Marseille midfielder Mario Lemina will undergo a medical on Monday ahead of a move.
