They were so amazing together, we just can’t believe they are not anymore! This summer appeared to be the love-ending point for three awesome celebrity couples. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, Sean Penn and Charlize Theron have all recently announced they are splitting up!
Thank goodness, the Hollywood number-one couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have fought back all the obsessive rumors about their divorce in the beginning of July. Otherwise, we would have ceased to believe in love!
But let’s take a look at our forever-and-ever couples once again: how in love they were and how perfectly they matched, how happy they were together with their sweet broods. So hard to hold back the tears!
1. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s divorce.
On the 30th of June, the next day after their 10-year anniversary, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner confirmed they are filing for divorce. In the joint statement the ex-couple said: “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”
Ben, 42, and Jen, 43, are believed to fall in love while acting together in the ‘Daredevil’ movie in 2003. They have three children together – Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3. However, their family life was not so serene. They are divorcing now after years of couples therapy and over a six-months separation due to Affleck’s gambling and presumable liaisons with other women.
At least their divorce is amicable and they will share joint custody of their children.
2. Sean Penn and Charlize Theron’s split.
In the middle of June, Charlize Theron called off her engagement with Sean Penn after they spent time together in Europe in May. And now it looks like the hottest couple ever has broken up for good.
Knowing each other for decades and being friends, the two Oscar-winning actors got together as a couple in December of 2013.
Theron, 39, told the Elle UK’s June issue: “Putting aside that he’s my partner, he’s the love of my life.”
While Penn, 54, who was previously married to Madonna (from 1985 to 1989) and Robin Wright (from 1996 to 2010; they have two grown kids, Dylan and Hopper), said when it came to Charlize he was ready to marry more than ever before: “You say I’ve been married twice before, but I’ve been married under circumstances where I was less informed than I am today. So I wouldn’t even consider it a third marriage, I’d consider it a first marriage on its own terms if I got married again.”
They were so deeply in love and became really close. In December, 2014, according to US magazine, after a one-year relationship they had gotten secretly engaged during a trip to Paris. And in January, Page Six reported that Penn had filed papers to adopt Charlize’s 3 years old son Jackson.
No one knows what exactly happened during their trip to the Cannes Film Festival and to Europe this May, but Charlize has decided to break things up with her beloved significant other.
3. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale file for divorce.
The sweetest couple ever, they were married from 2002 and have three sons together: Kingston, 9, Zuma, 6, and 17-month-old Apollo.
On August the 3d, Gwen, 45, and Gavin, 49, released this heartbreaking statement to Access Hollywood: “While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment.”
They were married for 13 years…
And they’ve been in love as long as we know them!
