LIVE: Everton 0 – 0 Liverpool (Merseyside Derby)

Everton and Liverpool play the first match of Super Sunday that includes clashes like Arsenal vs Manchester United, Bayern Munich vs Dortmund, PSG vs Marseille, AC Milan vs Napoli and Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid.


The Merseyside derby is one of the biggest in England wwhich feature two traditional powerhouses.


Everton defeated West Brom in their last premier league match thanks to two goals from Romelu Lukaku while Liverpool can count on Daniel Sturridge to produce another two goals like he did when the Reds defeated Aston Villa 3-2 in their last EPL fixture also.

Everton have amassed twelve points from seven games this season while under-fire Brendan Rodgers has seen his team gain eleven points from seven games also.

The Reds spent big in the summer and are expected to challenge for the title but have flattered to deceive.


Everton starting XI: Howard; Browning, Funes Mori, Jagielka, Galloway; McCarthy, Barry; Deulofeu, Barkley, Naismith; Lukaku.


Liverpool starting XI: Mignolet; Skrtel, Sakho, Can; Clyne, Moreno, Lucas, Milner; Coutinho, Ings, Sturridge.



26′ WHAT A MISSED CHANCE!!!! Barkleys in swinging freekick finds Naismith who Sakho should be marking more tightly. The attackers header is just pushed over by a world class Mignolet save. Liverpool survive


25′ Liverpool again find space on the right and Milner is free. He shoots at Howard but the USA man does well to block the shot


24′ Danny Ings does well to feed Clyne but Tim Howard makes the angle small for the right back


23′ Browning is wrongly penalized for a push on Milner, the midfielder actually slipped. The Resulting freekick is too far for Skrtel to make anything of


22′ The defender is back on the pitch and its game on


19′ Skrtel is down injured following a clash with Lukaku and the referee has to stop the game for the medics to attend to the Slovanian. Looks like he twisted his thumb


18′ Former Barcelona man Gerard Deulofeu feeds Lukaku in a dangerous area but its too far and Emre Can clears easily


16′ Lots of tackles flying in but the referee is not disrupting the game. NICE WORK!!!


15′ Ty Browning shows amazing awareness to hold off Ings and feed Barry who feeds Lukaku in a dangerous area but Emre Can is aware of the danger and clears


14′ Barkley is punished for a push on Coutinho


13′ ALMOST!!! Clyne feeds Ings on the right with a header and the striker’s one time shot is just over Tim Howard and the bar


12′ Liverpool still looking good in possession


10′ AGAIN JAGIELKA COMES TO THE RESCUE!!! Ings almosts gets on the end of a lofted pass but the English defender does well to poke the ball onto Ings toe and a goal kick is given

6′ WASTED Opportunity!!! Milner takes a freekick into the box which is cleared. Falls to Can who feeds Skretel on the right, the defenders corss almost gets to Sturridge before Jagielka shows amazing awareness to clear away


5′ Nice footwork from Sturrigge on the right who cuts onto his left foot in a Robben esque manner but his shot is too weak and way off target
