Chairman of the Senate Ad Hoc committee, Ali Ndume has revealed when the Senate would unveil its legislative agenda to enable Nigerians know what to expect from the lawmakers in the next four years.

Ndume, who is also the Majority Leader of the Senate, said the agenda will be unveiled next week, adding that the Committee is working day and night to achieve its goals within the stipulated time frame.
The Ad Hoc committee was set up to set up to draft the legislative agenda for the 8th Senate.
Ndume, noted that this would be the first time the Senate would be coming up with a legislative agenda since democracy was introduced in the country. He also details of the agenda will be made public when the committee’s assignments are completed.

The majority leader said Nigerians hope that the senate will bring change in every facet of the economy will be added to the agenda.
He said: “The details of the legislative agenda will come out when we finish the job.
“So, the crux of the matter is that we are trying to present to Nigerians in a new way, what they should expect from the 8th Senate, and that will help us to determine the level, the speed, the commitment of the Senate in discharging the collective agenda that we have for the country.”
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, defied the All Progressive Congress (APC) wish and announced Ndume (Borno South) as the Senate Leader, Bala Ibn Na’Allah (Kebbi) Deputy Leader and Francis Alimikhena (Edo) Deputy Chief Whip.
The APC had nominated Senator Ahmed Lawan‘s as its majority leader but Saraki rejected the APC’s list.
