Kaduna state governor, Nasiru El Rufai has appointed Hadiza Bala Usman as his new chief of staff.
Ms Usman is quite popular amongst the All Progressives Congress (APC) where she served as the Administrative Secretary of the Buhari Presidential Campaign Organization, Member Secretary APC elections planning committee, member APC strategy committee, director of finance in the Nasir El-Rufai campaign organization and later the Kaduna State APC campaign council.

Premium Times reports that the Zaria born strategist is the daughter of the famous radical historian Yusufu Bala Usman who was secretary to the Kaduna state government during the Balarabe administration.
Her primary school education began at ABU Staff School and she proceeded to ABU Demonstration Secondary School and earned a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2000. She later obtained an MA in Development Studies from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, in 2009
She is the director of Strategy for the Good Governance Group (3G) and a co-founder of the #BringBackOurGirls movement that has been at the forefront of demanding the release of more than 200 Chibok girls that were abducted by Boko Haram.

She has received a lot of international recognition for her work amongst which are being recognized as one of the most influential women by Financial Times and Ebony magazine
Recently, the governor of Kaduna state, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, called on the federal government to restructure the civil service so as to move the nation forward.
