APC’s Plot To Remove Ekweremadu Will End In Futility

Senator Mao Ohuabunwa states that the plot by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to remove the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, would end in futility. 


According to him, noting that only the Senate that elected him had the constitutional powers to do it.


The senator from Abia North senatorial district dismissed the insinuation that there was crisis in the Senate and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) adding that there was no crisis in either the PDP or the Senate.

Ohuabunwa also warned those stoking the crisis in the National Assembly to have a rethink in the interest of the nation.


“The interest of the nation should be paramount in the consideration. Members of the National Assembly were committed to work hard to make Nigeria better for all, irrespective of tribe or religion,” he said.


Meanwhile Ohuabunwa expressed confidence that his mandate would remain intact.


Reacting to statements by Onuoha that he would reclaim his mandate, Ohuabunwa said: “Which mandate is he talking about? Is it the one the people have freely given to me.”


Furthermore, the senator expressed confidence in the ability of the tribunal to deliver justice.
