A 15-year-old senior secondary school student, Paschal Egbosimba, is reported to have committed suicide over the weekend at Uratta in Owerri North local council area of Imo State.
It was gathered that the deceased, who is from Ntueke, Ideato South local government area of the state, lived in the same house with his mother and siblings around Toronto Junction, Uratta, prior to his unfortunate demise.
According to Vanguard, a witness present at the scene said “Paschal was a senior secondary school student of Passion Model Secondary School, Egbu. He used an electric extension cable to hang himself from a ceiling fan, when his mother was away for a night vigil”.

Sympathizers were seen going into Paschal’s residence en-masse to console the mother who had been in agony. The late boy’s mother, who wept uncontrollably, was heard saying that she never scolded the deceased. The anguished mother added that there was no reason for Paschal to have committed suicide.
One of the sympathizer also concluded that the incident was as shocking as it had remained a mystery, noting that the young boy was neither troublesome nor noisy.

A police man at the Owerri North divisional police headquarters, Uratta, upon enquiry confirmed the incident, adding that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) had already visited the scene of the incident.
