The Lagos state governor, Akinwumi Ambode, has come under fire again from the opposition party in the state, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing his administration as is based on Propaganda.

PDP also scored the immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, 35 per cent for his eight-year performance.
In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Taofik Gani, said Fashola was the most fortunate governor in Nigeria because he ruled the richest state in Nigeria but squandered the opportunity of transforming Lagos.

“It is true that former Governor Fashola deceived the world on his governance of Lagos State by using the power of propaganda. Fashola cannot score above 35 per cent mark under an objective and factual rating of his administration, particularly considering the monumental IGR and federal allocations that were at his disposal.
“Yet he went borrowing and consequently plunged the state into local and foreign debts of nearly a trillion naira while leaving all his bogus projects as uncompleted or beyond the reach of the ordinary Lagosian. Fashola rather adopted corporate and private investors’ projects and interventions to flaunt as his achievements in the areas of security, education, market and road constructions, to mention a few.
“Fashola did not leave behind any legacy of low-cost housing, qualitative education, youth empowerment, well paid civil servants, affordable health care service, to mention a few.”

The PDP argued that Fashola did not construct low-cost housing for the poor, adding that his achievements in relation to the Internally Generated Revenue of the state were miles apart.
The party however urged Ambode to be weary of groups and individuals who now assume sycophantic roles in his administration.
Earlier, PDP had lambasted the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, over the inclusion of relatives of the National leader of the party and former governor of the state in list of commissioners and advisers he sent to the Lagos State House of Assembly.
In a related development, the governor has appointed Mr. Olufolarin Ogunsanwo as the new chairman, of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS). Ogunsanwo’s appointment was confirmed by the Lagos state house of assembly on September 22 on the request of the governor.
