PHOTOS: Nature Lovers Cover Themselves In Blood To Protest Against Animal Suffering

Hundreds of vegans, vegeterians, animal rights activists and other nature lovers staged a bloody protest in the capital of France today.

Today a public square in Paris turned into an open-air slaughterhouse after scores of protester invaded the Place du Palais Royal to make a stand against ‘animal suffering and meat consumption’.

The photos of the protest show men and women of all ages lying covered in fake blood, staging a huge “die-in” in the middle of the city.

The demonstration is a part of the World Day for the Abolition of Meat, which has taken place every year since 2009.

The protest was organized by the 269 Life group, whose aim is to stop the slaughter of all animals around the world.

A statement on their website reads: “We aim to bring the pain and horror other animals face each and every day out of the suppressed darkness and into the realm of everyday life.

No animal should be exploited to satisfy the selfish needs and whimsical desires of humans.

Most people are well aware of what is being done to other animals, and yet remain apathetic in the face of the atrocities committed in their name, even after witnessing the utmost graphic evidence.
