FIFA president, Sepp Blatter has officially been charged by the Swiss Attorney General on “suspicion of criminal mismanagement”, CNN informs.
Blatter, had not yet been charged by any authority despite 13 present and past members of the FIFA executive committee already facing trials for financial crimes.

In a statement by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) of Switzerland, it was revealed that Blatter signed a mischievous with the Caribbean Football Union when it was headed by whistle blower Jack Warner.
It was also revealed that Blatter bribed UEFA president Michel Platini $2 million.
The statement reads in part: “The OAG suspects that on 12 September 2005 Mr. Joseph Blatter has signed a contract with the Caribbean Football Union (with Jack Warner as the President at this time); this contract was unfavorable for FIFA,” said the statement.

“On the other hand, there is as suspicion that, in the implementation of this agreement, Joseph Blatter also violated his fiduciary duties and acted against the interest of FIFA and/or FIFA Marketing & TV AG.
“Additionally, Mr. Joseph Blatter is suspected of a disloyal payment of two million Swiss Francs to Michel Platini, President of Union of European Football Association (UEFA), at the expense of FIFA, which was allegedly made for work performed between January 1999 and June 2002 ; this payment was executed in February 2011.”
FIFA has also released a statement saying it has already been working harmoniously with the OAG by providing necessary documents and papers requested. Meanwhile, FIFA has announced the suspension of its secretary general, Jerome Valcke following accusations of corruption and mismanagement.
