Former governor of Oyo state and National leader of Accord Party (AP), Rashidi Ladoja has advised the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to resolve their crisis in order not to distract President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking on the recent crisis in the National Assembly, Ladoja warned that the division in the legislative arm of government is likely to frustrate the efforts of President Buhari to perform well in office.

He further advised the APC leaders to make concrete efforts aimed at resolving the in-fighting and power tussle within their ranks adding that the long years of being in the opposition may be responsible for the internal crisis the ruling party is currently battling with.
He also expressed his surprise at the party’s difficulty in managing the situation while making reference to the Peoples Democratic Party ability to manage a similar situation in the 7th assembly when Aminu Tambuwal became the House of Representatives speaker.
According to The Guardian, Ladoja said the crisis in the National Assembly has led to under-performance from lawmakers as they have spent more time in recess than in the chambers.

He also said the presence of some National Assembly members at the Code of Conduct tribunal sitting last week for the trial of the senate president, Bukola Saraki showed that the APC is divided.
Meanwhile, there are indications that President Buhari has moved to calm the tension going on in the ruling party over the ordeal of Saraki as he recently held a secret meeting with former president Olusegun Obasanjo in New York on the issue.
Since the beginning of his trial, Saraki has had to endure several forms of humiliation as he was reportedly stoned during his first Eid-el-Kabir prayer as the Senate president, while some groups have also called for his resignation following the case he has with the CCT.

There are however unconfirmed reports that the APC may have concluded plans to replace the embattled senate president, even as Saraki recently said his appearance before the Code of Conduct Tribunal has further demonstrated his believe in the rule of law and respect for the judiciary.
