Check Out Heartwarming Paintings Of Everyday Life In Nigeria

An artist from Israel, Zoya Cherkassky-Nnadi, who is married to a Nigerian-born man, Sunny Hyacineth, likes to paint what she observes–a slice of life. Her paintings are clever, funny, touching and insightful at the same time.

In 2013, Cherkassky-Nnadi visited Ngwo town in Enugu state, the home town of her husband. Nnadi’s paintings depict the village’s daily situations: at home, at family meetings, at the market. Being a family member and not a tourist, allowed her to observe the place in an intimate and direct fashion.

The artist was born in Kiev, Ukraine, however, at the age of 15, she moved to Israel. Nnadi is a successful artist who regularly has art exhibitions in Tel Aviv. She also paints daily situations from her own life in Israel as well as from her childhood in Ukraine.
