The European domestic season has ended with the likes of Chelsea, Zenit, Juventus, Barcelona, PSG winning their respective league titles. Many sport fans look at this period of the year as the least exciting but they are so wrong.
The Nigerian Football Premier League is on going, this weekend will also feature the finals of the Wimbledon in both the men and women competitions.
Nigerian Premier League:
On Sunday, at 4pm the following teams play:
Heartland Owerri – Dolphin Port Harcourt: Two of the most popular clubs in Nigeria clash in Owerri on Sunday. Heartland are placed sixth on the league table while Dolphins have been disappointing palcing 18th on the table after 16 matches played.
Sunshine Stars – Bayelsa United: Super Eagle defender Kunle Odunlami has been pardoned by the Akure Gunners after been suspended for traveling to Morocco for a deal with the Raja Casablanca without informing his employers. He will hope to help the toble toppers defeat fifteenth place Bayelsa United.
Warri Wolves FC – Enyimba: 12th place Warri Wolves will hope to turn a disappointing season around when second place Enyimba come visiting.
Club Friendlies:
Queens Park Rangers – Shakhtar Donetsk: Relegated QPR face Ukranian champions and Champions league quarter-finalist Shakhter on Saturday by 5pm.
Southampton – Valencia: Last season’s EPL surprise package, Southampton begin their pre-season with a friendly with La Liga’s fourth placed Valencia on Saturday by 4.05pm.
