A 29 years old man, Abdullahi Adedayo, was on Thursday arraigned in an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State for allegedly stealing 2,214 pieces of live catfish.

According News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Adedayo, whose address is unknown, is facing a two-count charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Aliu Samod, put the value of the 2,214 pieces of catfish stolen from Chi-Farms, Ajanla Village, Ibadan, at N1.3 million.

He said the offence, which was committed between January 2 and December 28, 2014, contravened Section 390 (6) of the Criminal Code, Caps 38. Vol 11 Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
Chief Magistrate, Isiaka Uthman, in his ruling on the bail application of the accused, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

As part of the bail conditions, Uthman said that one of the sureties must be a civil servant of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He adjourned the case till July 27 for hearing.
