Speaking to Daily Sun in an interview, Chukwu who contested under the platform of the Peoples Progressive Alliance (PPA) for Bende Constituency in the April 2015, said he has written to all relevant security authorities on the issue but hasn’t gotten any response.

According to Chukwu, the grouse of his opponents is his effrontery to defile the appeals of some opinion leaders, who wanted him to collect a N30 million settlement offer given to him as well as withdraw his case at the Election Petitions Tribunal, sitting in Umuahia.

He said he has stayed away from his hometown since he started getting threats from his opponents adding that he has found it difficult to sleep with his eyes closed ever since.

Chukwu said: “What I want to tell the public is that should anything happen to me, now and after, they should know who to hold responsible. The PDP caucus in Umunna and their collaborators from Umuahia that vowed to permanently silence me by all means, either through assassination or kidnapping, should be held responsible.”
