Reports reaching Naij.com has it that, A parody lawyer identified as Olawale Falola has been arrested by the police for misleading and duping the public.

Falola who according to reports is a dropout from a university in Osun State got into the police net during a routine stop and search in Ibadan by the Oyo State Police Command.

The accused have been misleading the general public with stickers of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), strategically placed on his windscreen and portraying himself as a lawyer.

The police requested for his identity on this fateful day and he couldn’t produce any and failed to display any proof of his purported profession.

Further investigations and probes further reveals that, he has garnered as much as 6 million naira deceiving people with empty promises that he will secure a jobs for them at the Nigerian Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and other notable places.

According to the accused, “I paraded myself as a lawyer and I have taken money from more than 100 people. I promised to get jobs for them at NNPC and security organisations. I have made up to N4m from the practice out of which I bought a Toyota Corolla car. I lived in Osogbo. I came to Ibadan to visit my family when I was arrested by the police.”

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebola, has confirmed that, his car that was worth 2 million naira has been impounded by the police and he shall face the court soon to continue his hearing.

According to him, “Falola was arrested for parading himself as a lawyer when he was not. The car was bought from the proceeds of his illegal activity and he had confessed to the crime. There is no place for such people in our society. In our renewed effort to completely rid the state of criminals, the state police command will not give room for criminals to thrive.”
