Not minding the tragedy that has trailed this year’s hajj, Muslim pilgrims have done one of the symbolic ritual involved in their pilgrimage.
The pilgrims, yesterday, Friday, September 25, threw stones at a pillar. This act symbolizes the stoning of Satan in a ritual called “Jamarat,” which is the last rite of the annual Hajj in Mina on Friday.

This year’s Hajj has been very controversial due to the tragic stampede that caused the death of over 700 people.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari recently expressed sadness over the stampede at Mina, which occurred on Thursday, September 24, in the Saudi Arabia, claiming the lives of hundreds of pilgrims.
Also, the Peoples Democratic Party sympathized with the Muslim community worldwide over the recent tragedy. The party called on all Nigerians to pray for the repose of the souls of the departed and for speedy recovery for those wounded in the stampede.
