Residents of Ara Ekiti in Ijero local government of Ekiti state have expressed displeasure over the deplorable condition of their roads, saying all the intra and inter roads in the community has become a death trap to motorists.

Leaders of the community, Samuel Eyinmenugun and Olaoluwa, in a chat with Naij.com opined that the condition of the roads have caused a lot of setback for commercial activities in the community.
They listed some of the roads as the road leading to Ijero, Awo, Epe and Obatedo.
The community leaders said the community has for long suffered neglect in the hands of past administrations in Ekiti State.

They disclosed that the community does not have access to water supply, electricity, and other infrastructure that could make life meaningful for them.
The people, however, call on government both at the local and state level to come to their aid and rescue the community from its present predicament, adding that they have been depriving of dividends of democracy for long.

In separate development, the Ekiti state government had announced plans to stop the payment of West Africa Examination Certificate and National Examinations Council fees for final year students in senior secondary schools in the state.
The government stated that the state cannot continue with the payment due to poor financial status advising parents to take full responsibility for their children school fee and other academic commitment.
