Car Accident: Akpabio Flown Out Of Nigeria, Airport Sources Disclose

Godswill Akpabio, the former governor of Akwa Ibom state, has been flown out of Nigeria purportedly to receive medical treatment following the car accident he was involved in.


Senator Akpabio was moving in a convoy of vehicles towards the City Gate in Abuja when his vehicle ran into another car. The accident occurred on Monday, August 31.


The Punch provides update that Akpabio and his five aides were spotted leaving the Abuja airport on board a private jet. The information was said to have been disclosed by sources at the airport.

According to the information obtained, in a fresh development the politician, looking physically fit, and his convoy arrived at the General Aviation Terminal, local wing.

One of the sources narrated:


“He (Akpabio) was at the GAT local wing of the airport and one of the tarmac buses was used to convey him to his aircraft. He left around 20 minutes to 1pm.


“The flight conveying him on the trip taxied to the international terminal from where it took off. The former governor travelled with his own private flight and had about five persons who accompanied him on the trip. He looked physically okay, although some of the men with him said he might receive medical attention abroad due to the car crash he was involved in on Monday.”


However, the official information is yet to be provided on the matter.
