The Nigeria air force says it has destroyed Boko Haram’s power-generating solar panels in Sambisa forest, as parts of its current offensive against the sect.
The spokesman informed about this in a statement on September 2, Wednesday.

He said: “The Nigeria air force, in its bid to sustain the ongoing air assault against the Boko Haram terrorists (BHTs) in Sambisa forest, has continued to hit vital targets with a view to decimating the capability and resolve of the members of the sect to continue to fight.
“The most recent success was the attack on BHT targets in Ngoshe and Pulka by the Alpha Jets providing close air support to own ground forces. The targets, which include solar panels believed to be used by the sect for generating electricity within the Sambisa forest, were hit during the recent take-over of Gamboru-Ngala by own troops.”

It should be recalled that on Tuesday, the Nigeria military declared that it resized Gamboru Ngala, in Borno state, from Boko Haram, with Sani Usman, the army spokesperson, saying the triumphant troops were “now busy with clearing and mopping-up patrol”.
Following the directive by President Muhammadu Buhari to end the deadly Boko Haram sect in three month, the military has increased its efforts in the war against the insurgents.
There had been reports that earlier today the suicide bomber was stopped from Bauchi state.
