BREAKING: Oliseh Retains Six Home Based Eagles For AFCON Qualifiers

Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh on Friday, retained six home-based Super Eagles players for the 2017 African  cup of Nations qualifying  match against Tanzania.

The six players will also play a scheduled friendly match against Niger Republic in Port-harcourt.


The retained players are:  Austin Obaroakpo (Abia Warriors), Usman Mohammed (FC Taraba), Prince Aggreh (Sunshine Stars), Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Sunshine Stars), Solomon Kwambe (Warri Wolves), and Chima Akas(Sharks FC).

These players are expected to report to the Super Eagles camp at Bolton White Hotels and Apartments, Zone 7 on Monday, August 31. Foreign based professionals are expected to join the players in camp on the same day.


However, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have announced that, the team are expected to leave Abuja for Daresalam, Tanzania via a chartered flight, two days to the match, on Thursday, September 3.


The team will move straight to Port Harcourt from Tanzania to continue preparations for the September 8  friendly against Niger Republic.


Nigeria is in the Group G of the ongoing 2017 AFCON qualifiers with Egypt, Tanzania and Chad. The tournament will take place in Gabon.
