‘We Will Arrest Iyaloja’s killer’ – Police

The newly posted Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Abdulmajid Ali, has promised the family of the slain Iyaloja of Ijebuland, late Chief (Mrs) Sadiat Elewuju, that the killers will be apprehended within a week.

The CP disclosed that the Command has commenced adequate and prompt investigation into the murder case, also hinted that all hands are on deck to unravel the killing.

In a statement released Friday night, and signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the new police boss revealed this when he visited the Ijebu-Ode home of the murdered Iyaloja, who was attacked and killed by some hired assassins on Wednesday Juse 8, in her house located at Sabo- Itanrin area, Ijebu ode.

The new CP, promised the people of Ogun State of adequate protection of lives and property now that he has taken over the mantle of leadership of the command.

Responding on behalf of the family, the younger brother to the deceased, Alhaji Gani Sote, appreciated the command for its support and commitment.

According to him: “I confess that I never liked the Police, but you people surprised and tripped me, now I am in love with the Police”, Sote posited.

Also commenting on the Command’s visit to the family, another sibling, Mr Omololu Lawal commended the Commissioner of Police and the entire command for their professionalism and assurances of arresting the culprits.

Ali was accompanied to the late woman’s residence by top officials of the Command, which include the deputy commissioner of police in charge criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Eleweran Abeokuta, DCP Shina Olukolu, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Department of Operations, Ogun State, DCP Bello Makwashi, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Muyiwa  Adejobi among others.

It was further stated that the Ali immediately ordered the deployment of additional Anti Crime teams, including Anti Cultism and Kidnapping, Anti Robbery, Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), and Operation Safer Highway.
