Keshi’s Destiny Is in His Hands – NFF

Officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are not backing down these days and are making sure Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi knows that only positive results will save his job.

Keshi has been under attacks by the NFF disciplinary commission who accused him of applying for the Ivory Coast job despite being Eagles boss.

This has also been added to the controversy created by Vincent Enyeama when he questioned the suitability of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on June 13.

The NFF who has always had a troublesome relationship with Keshi are angry that the Big bos is not controlling his players as they (NFF) will like.

The NFF have given examples of trends like in the 2013 Confederations Cup when the players refused to fly to Brazil in a jet hired by FIFA. They agitated over match bonus and brought international shame to Nigeria. The next was at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, where they threatened not to play France in the second round until their share of the FIFA World Cup money was given to them.

The NFF sees Keshi at fault for all these issues ans with the latest being the Enyeama issue, they feel Keshi has no control of the his players, especially key acts like Enyeama and John Obi Mikel. Enyeama’s outburst really jolted the NFF that they had to double their security expenses.

An NFF source close to the team, noted that Keshi now can only guarantee his position by turning in good results that will endear him to Nigerians.

“Nobody will talk to Keshi or be harsh to him if he is winning. Results will keep him on the job”, one NFF source said.

Keshi has however said through his agent that he did not apply for any vacant position, meanwhile Enyeama failed to honour the invitation to appear at the disciplinary counsel.
